The Vocational Work Center provides hands-on training opportunities to its trainees in the following work areas: Food Service, Custom Cleaning, Clerical, Accounting, Building Maintenance, Grounds Maintenance, Machine Operation, Office Products, Assembly and Packaging.

Vocational Experiences

What does the Work Center provide?

Gateway Community Industries' two Work Centers offer a wide vaiety of vocational experiences that are tailored to meet the individual's needs. The Work Center facilitates the attainment of an individual's rehabilitation goals based on their identified strengths, weaknesses and choices. Training programs focus on developing the following skills:

Each individual is assigned a vocational counselor who is responsible for counseling and monitoring work progress while maintaining close contact with treatment team members.

Within the Work Center, training opportunities are available in a variety of work areas including:

Office Products

Individuals receive remuneration for work performed based on DOL approved piece rate standards.

Work Adjustment counseling is provided by a staff of vocational counselors. Areas addressed center around work-related concerns and behaviors in order to maximize the vocational potential of each trainee.

Ancillary services include transportation, remediation, occupational health services and referral to other community services as needed.
